There is evidence of people having settled here as far back as Neolithic times, but more prevalent are buildings in the village and surrounding area dating back to the 16th century when islanders cultivated grapes, olives and livestock (when not defending against pirates!).
During the renovation process we preserved ancient features of ruins found on the land, from the cistern wall and the carved out stone for pressing out olive oil and grape juice, to recreating the rough stone build of the walls.
Each room in the house has it's own private entrance as the served a different function in the past.
The first double room was where our ancestors slept and rested.
The middle double room used to serve as the kitchen.
The studio room is the largest of the three and functioned as the stable. The warmth from the animals provided welcome 'eco-heating' on colder nights.
